Why Marfa?
First off, just to share some context of why we picked this unusual place to get married: Trevor and I first visited Marfa Texas in 2021 (our first year of dating). Trevor wanted to take a special trip for his 23rd birthday, so we rounded up some of our friends/siblings/cousins and planned a camping trip to Marfa! The initial things that drew us to Marfa were the famous art installations like Prada Marfa and the beautiful West Texas desert scenery. Upon arriving to this tiny remote town (the entire town is approx. 1.7 square miles) we accidentally bumped into the town historian, who is an elderly lady named Mona Garcia. Mona invited us into her home in the downtown square and shared tales of Marfa’s history which included cowboys, the filming of the old western film “Giant”, the late artist Donald Judd moving to Marfa and putting it on the map as an oasis of modern art, and last but not least… the Mysterious Marfa Lights. Needless to say, we were mystified by this unique place and couldn’t wait to come back. We were even saying, “what if we got married here someday?”.
Fast forward to 3 years later, we’ve gone to Marfa one other time… and we’re hoping to have y’all join us for our third visit and the most important day of our lives. We know that it’s not an easy place to get to, but we hope to make this a fun and memorable experience for everyone

Logistics
Dates: We recommend arriving in Marfa on Friday, August 2nd in the afternoon or evening. That way you can get settled in, and enjoy the town! You can also plan to arrive on our wedding day, Saturday August 3rd - just keep in mind our ceremony will be starting at 5:30pm!
If you’re traveling from Austin: The most optimal way for you to travel to Marfa is by car. It is a 6.5 hour drive. Please consider that Marfa is a remote destination and will require traveling through areas where there aren’t gas stations for a long time. Plan accordingly!
If you’re traveling from out of state: The most optimal way to travel to Marfa is by flying into El Paso Airport (ELP). From the airport, you’ll need to rent a car or use a ride share service to drive 3 hours to Marfa.
Make sure to coordinate with family members that are traveling from the same city as you before renting a car. Sharing rental cars would be ideal as most attractions in Marfa are walkable from the little town!
Accommodations
Hotel Paisano: This is our reception venue and a neat historic hotel in the center of Downtown Marfa! If you’re interested in staying here.
Hotel Saint George: This is a higher-end, modern hotel also in the Heart of Downtown Marfa.

Small Adventures
The Marfa Lights — or Marfa Mystery Lights, as some call them—are a top reason to visit Marfa, drawing visitors from around the globe for a chance to see these unexplained phenomena. Accounts of the strange spectacle just east of Marfa began during the 19th century and continue to this day. The official Marfa Lights Viewing Area is located 9 miles east of town on U.S. 90, towards Alpine. Bring an open mind and enjoy the great view!
Marfa Burrito — Of all the stops in Marfa, one is a legendary location featuring a Texas treasure: Marfa Burrito! This spot is home to none other than the ‘Burrito Queen’ whose world-famous burritos have drawn fans like Matthew McConaughey and Anthony Bourdain (who even joined her in the kitchen). Marfa Burrito churns out unbelievable Texas-size tortillas made from scratch with sensational sauces.
The Sentinel Marfa — Enjoy an Americano and some breakfast or a cocktail and some lunch in a spacious, historic Adobe, or savor locally inspired food on their shaded back patio.
Hotel Saint George Pool— Marfa's coolest hot spot. Wander between The Pool's sunny and shady spots, sip on something frozen from the bar, settle onto a luxe chaise lounge, and commence unwinding. When twilight arrives, soak in a hot tub built to accommodate your friends, old and new.
The Chinati Foundation— La Fundación Chinati is an art museum in Marfa, Texas, based upon the ideas of its founder, Donald Judd. The emphasis is on works in which art and the surrounding land are inextricably linked.
